SKILLED WORKER VISA SPONSORSHIP
To come to stay in the UK for an eligible job with an approved employer, a skilled worker is required to have a visa. If you are a skilled worker who has landed a fulfilling job in the UK, you will need this visa as a replacement for the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
Your visa is only valid for up to five (5) years before it needs an extension. You will need to apply for an extension or update your visa when it expires or change jobs or employers.
You can apply for a visa up to three (3) months before you are about to start your job in the UK. You can find the date listed on your certificate of sponsorship.
You will be asked to prove your identity and provide some required documents as part of the application process.
If you need an appointment to do this, you may need to wait and allow extra time. Eventually, you will only find out if you need one once you start your application.
